Tungsten Wedding Bands |

im planning to buy my boyfriend a promise ring (hes getting me one also), and i want to have our anniversary engraved on it. where can i get this done, and how much will it cost?

the ring isnt very expensive, and its made of tungsten carbide. through a little research, ive found that they can engrave on tungsten carbide, but i need to know where to go.

There’s a myth that keeps going around that tungsten can’t be engraved and that’s not true. My husband and I bought a tungsten ring and sent it to http://www.larsonjewelers.com/ and they engraved it traditionally for us.

They have 2 options, to either engrave traditional or laser. We decided to go a more traditional route.

Im looking into getting a wedding band, Which type should I get? Pros, cons of the ones below. Please let me know any personal feelings if you own one of these types of wedding bands.

Titanium

for a guy gold (white or yellow) isn’t the best choice because it’s easily scratched and bends, and it will wear away over time so you lose metal over the years – for active people or those that work with there hands – bad idea! if you must get gold get 10k – it’s stronger and looks as good
tungsten is awesome it won’t scratch or bend but 2 weird problems – if you drop it on tile (only tile) it’ll break into a million pieces, and if there’s an emergency and the medical people need to get the ring off and they can’t pull it off – there’s no way to cut it so you could lose the finger (but really what are the chances???)
titanium is very similar to tungsten but it does run the risk of bending in some situations and if it bends to the point it can’t be removed – there goes the finger again!
my fiance is getting tungsten – he’s a paramedic and will beat the hell out of it so it seems like the best choice

Ive been seeing alot of these tungsten rings, are they decent? They seem very cheap lol. What kind of ring did you get for your hubby??

My guy wants a tungsten. He likes the look of them and knows they’ll last a while. We’re just going with a plain one, as my guy won’t be wearing his ring very often (he works in a body shop as a painter, and can’t have the ring on as he’s running a hand over a paint job checking for smoothness…if the paint’s even slightly wet, the ring will put a chip in it). If you do decide to go with Tungsten, ignore the cheap prices on line and buy it at a jewelry store. A friend of mine bought her hubby’s tungsten online, and they can’t get it resized for her husband. The site they ordered it from just won’t do it. If they’d ordered it from the local jewelry store, they could just take it there and the jewelry store would send it back to the manufacturer. (And you CAN"T actually get them sized anyway. Once they’re sized for a nine, they stay a nine. You have to send it back to the manufacturer, pay like $30-$50 and they’ll send you a whole new ring in the new size.)

I’m getting my boyfriend a promise ring we already talked about it and he is excited and loves the idea that i want to get him one. I am stuck between these 2…

It seems that the ring(s) you posted are the same one. But, I must say, I would get it for my boyfriend!

Just curious. My fiance and I went looking at wedding bands for him this afternoon and realized that the ones he likes don’t go with the one he already bought for me. Mine goes with my engagement ring and is white gold with small diamonds all the way around the whole thing. But the ones he has shown interest in so far are tungsten or the darker metals.
