Tungsten carbide is tungsten + carbon.
Tungsten on its own likely won’t be used in a ring, it’ll probably be tungsten carbide. A Tungsten Carbide Ring requires an enormous amount of focused stress before it’ll shatter/crack/fail. Tungsten carbide will not bend or deform, it’ll simply fracture.
The amount of force required to break the ring in an uncontrolled manner, such as in a car accident, will likely obliterate your finger/hand before the ring yields.
If you have a hand injury, emergency or hospital personnel will be able to remove the ring in a controlled and safe manner.
If you want a ring that’ll easily break, try obsidian.
